David Hopper is a pioneering DJ and music producer whohas established areputation for serving up a potent blend of house andtechno. Besides maintaining a full DJing schedule at clubs,raves, special events, webcasts and radio stations, heregularly appears as a guest music reviewer for electronicmusic culture magazines. Hopper has been producingoriginal electronic music for the past ten years as a soloartist and signed his first recording deal with Blacc LabelRecords in 1998. In 2000 he set up an independent recordlabel with some associates called Overeasy Records andbegan collaborating with long time friend and fellowDJ/producer Dave Panek under the “D&D Project” moniker.Gaining immediate success with their first release, entitledthe “Sunday EP” and their second release “T he Drums EP,”both on Overeasy, the D&D Project has gone on to produceover forty five mind-blowing tracks. In 2002, Hopper beganshowing his true versatility by producing what has beendescribed as funky, chunky, jazzy house under the alias“Catfish Boogie Nelson.” Hopper also began producing grittytechno that was instantly picked-up and placed on heavyrotation with Planet Dance and T he Vortex on the SiriusSatellite Radio network and also featured on the DiscoveryChannel. His original track “Bones” earned him a top 100track of 2003 on both Sirius Satellite and Grooveradio.Furthermore, in 2003, Hopper was a featured dj in BPMMagazine’s “Who is America’s Favorite DJ?” and spent themonth of August ‘03 on tour in Europe with MT V and wasthe featured DJ on MT V’s “T he Grind”. In 2004 he began tobranch out and started producing original tracks with otherartists under different alias's. Small projects like “HollywoodHighrollers” and “Brothers of Soul” were born out of thesecollaborations. In the Spring of 2004 he was delighted to begiven his own radio show called “Revolutions” on 87.9 FMStreets Radio out of Los Angeles while still devoting much ofhis time in the studio. Much of 2005 and 2006 was spentwith fellow producer Jonathan King setting up a new labelcalled Bounce Royal and starting a new live band calledSoul Provider along with a new production duo called MetroLocal. Fast forward to today - David Hopper has music onnumerous record labels internationally including Sony /BMG, Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Label, Looq, SystemRecordings and the list goes on and on. He also keepshimself busy doing film scores and getting original musicplayed on “ESPN”, “T he Oprah Winfrey Show” ,“FoxSports”,“Larry King Live”, “Access Hollywood”, “The Dog Whisperer” and many more televison and cable shows.Always on the cutting edge, Hopper has spun alongsidemany of electronic music’s greatest artists, such as PaulOakenfold, T he Crystal Method, T he Chemical Brothers, BadBoy Bill, DJ Rap, George Acosta, Judge Jules, RobbieRivera, and Frankie Bones just to name a few.
