Before the dawn of the social media revolution, Biologik was one of the
original co-founders responsible for helping launch Proton Radio after he,
Alex Ambroziak, and Sam Packer met on IRC. Now, over a decade later, Proton
Music is proud to release Biologik's debut artist album.
In the intervening years since Proton's inception, Biologik has been
responsible for a plethora of releases and remixes on the likes of
Particles and Olaris, and in March 2012, had a track featured on the
"Markus Schulz Global DJ Broadcast Top 20" compilation for Armada. Remixed
by leading lights such as Arthur Deep and Exoplanet, Biologik stays true to
his own self-proclaimed love of "lush pads" in his own production work.
This passion is strongly reflected in "One Month" which is a veritable
feast, rich in carefully crafted melodies, emotion and cinematic landscapes.
The opening 5 tracks epitomise this approach and the trio of "A Simple
Life", "Firefly" and "Draw Me In" are full of contemplation and reflection.
The more up-tempo tracks that follow are a perfect combination of melody
and rhythm, with "Timeless", "Time Fades Away" and "Break Me Down" all
seemingly illustrating Biologik's effortless sense of knowing exactly what
he wants to achieve through his music. Moreover, despite the change in
tempos, there is a consistent melodic thread weaving its way throughout the
entire body of work and the listener is very much presented with two halves
of the same whole.
"One Month" is an album that deserves attentive listening.
