My Carts

Born and raised in Amsterdam.I started to listen to music seriously when I was around 6 years old.I listened to the pirate radio a lot and recorded the tracks I liked on a little cassetterecorder and cutted off the djvoice. That’s how it all started.I started to collect records in an obsessive way. My granddad bought me my first Jimi Hendrix record and from that moment on my interest in underground music started I was around 8 years old then.At my 14th birthday I got my first guitar from my parents. I studied guitar solid for about 15 years. In 1985 I attended a producers-course and my interest in studiowork started. After playing guitar in a succesfull house-project Mad Doc 20/20 (lead by Norbert Mannaert) between 1990-1993 I was infected by the computerbased production virus. In 1994 I bought my own studio. My first record was released in 1992 and was produced in the studio of one of the members of Mad Doc named The Prophet (aka Dov Elkabas) who became member of the legendary Dream Team. Then a serious carreer kicked off around 1994 in the psi- trance area of dance including playing big rave-venues under the name Metal Spark together with Lorenzo Zoeter (aka Sibilant) and DJ Lucas.Metal Spark did some big very succesful gigs like Dance Valley(NL), One World Festival(Frome,UK)and Paris(10.000 people, headlining). I also had a solocarreer during that period under the names Syrinx, Hypercycle (with Frans Dordregter) and Microdome(with Ramon Sterman). Those projects did some great gigs too like Paradiso(organised bySacha Hoogerwerf in coperation with xs4all the founders of intenet for private use in the Netherlands, 2 times Escape(Amsterdam,NL), first time was the first Amsterdam Dance Event(ADE)(Amsterdam,NL),Stalker(Haarlem,NL) and Doornroosje(Nijmegen,NL)To complete this list i did a very special gig at the best club Amsterdam ever had called the 'Silo' on one of the famous parties called' Namaste' organised by the legandary 'Raymond'After that a search of new areas of music started resulting in some remixes (Ibiza-Style) for the Dutch band Zuco 103 and a compilation only track with Willem Heetebrij and Marusjka Sistermans under the name PMW.In 2006 I had an encounter with minimal techno on an outside party in Amsterdam and it struck me.I studied this music for 2 years with the help of Riley Reinhold (director of Traum Schallplatten) and Patrice Baumel (Trapez, GetPhysical). Lorenzo Zoeter helped me on the soundside. That resulted in a demo in 2008 that was picked up by Milanel of Ktlxmey Recordings and was released in December 2008.Since after living on Mallorca during 2002 i started djing and bought a lot of the genuine Iberican Sound records(Chus & Ceballos etc.)and when i returned to the Netherlands i did some radiodjsets on the famous nightshows on 3fm(Dutch National Radio) hosted by Giel Beelen and started djing at various small venues in Amsterdam. On the 3rd and 4th of September 2011 i did a dj-set on the Insound Festival in Altea, Spain organized by Josep Vicent, director of The World Music Orchestra and Slagwerkgroep Amsterdam. After that i did a djset for WOYM(In Deep;nDance Records hosted byDexon) and The Xample Bus(hosted by Debra Mitchell).I did djsets for The Bus, Chicken Skin and Bish Bosh Bash(hosted by the legendary MCMarxman) and Black Box(hosted by the talented Milan Meyberg). On the 30th of April i released an EP as first release on a new Deep House label called MIDI8OR and there is more to come. This label is directed by Niels Motoko de Groot(Presonus)and Tim Nieuwenhuis(Midi Amsterdam).Discography:1992: Collage-Steady Pounding/To T he Rhythm-12” (Dance Tracks-NL)1994: Syrinx-Cyberbrain (Various Compilations)1997: Syrinx-Monkey Business (Immortality IV)1997: Syrinx-Tremolo Heaven/Slippin’ And Slidin’-12” (Matsuri Productions-UK)1997: Metal Spark-Greassy/Smells Electric-12” (M Track-NL) 1997: Metal Spark-Metal Detector/Kick Start-12’ (Blue Room Released-UK)1997: Metal Spark-T he Iron Maiden/Sonicfeet-12” Blue Room Released-UK)1997: Metal Spark-Corrosive-Album (Blue Room Released- UK)1997: Hypercycle-Hypercycle/Mood Swing-12” (Auracle Recordings-UK)1997: Microdome-Clear Hallucination (Compilation on High Society-D)2001: PMW-Sugar (Compilation + VideoClip on Fonky Fibe Records-NL)2004: Zuco 103-Eu Nasci No Brasil (Primal View Remix on Ziriguiboom/Crammed Compilation-The Now Sound Of Brazil 2-B)2006: Z uco 103-Futebol Goal (DJ Patrice Remix on I-Tunes a.o. + VideoClip)2008: PatriceVanDenBerg-Night Flight EP (Ktlxmey Recordings-USA)2009: Z uco 103-Madrugada (Primal View Remix) onZ uco103-Retouched!(Album on Dox Records-NL)2013: PatriceVanDenBerg-Flight Coordinator EP(MIDI8OR) 2013: PatriceVanDenBerg-System Alert EP(MIDI8OR) 2013: PatriceVanDenBerg & Dennis Matana-To You EP(MIDI8OR)2013: PatriceVanenBerg-Never Down EP(MIDI8OR)Compilations :Let It Rip (Matsuri Productions-UK)Dance Valley 1996+1997 (Zomba/Rough Trade-NL) Pulse 2 (Subterranean-D) Renaissance Worldwide London (Passion Music-UK) Holy Mushroom (High Society) Brazillian Basics (Urban Essentials-NL) Immortality III and IV (Polygram-Nl)
