If you think back, you can probably pinpoint when your taste in music really took shape. For me, it all started with hip-hop and r&b. Just listening to the music was not enough for me. I started writing rap lyrics and creating r&b songs over beats created on a TR707 and a Yamaha synth. It’s surprising how much you can get out of basic equipment if you’re willing to really dig in.
