Dave Mech started making music at a very young age playing flamenco guitar. The percussive guitar rhythms were a blueprint for his love for electronica and techno later in his life. A friend introduced him to techno by taking him to aparty (Shockers 2002) and Dave was immediately drawn by the immense energy and atmosphere. After the party he decided to learn how to produce his own music and spin records. During that time he played a lot at underground and small parties. As he grew older he started to listen to electronica tunes from the early nineties and minimal music. This inspired him to broaden his horizon by making different kinds of electronic music. He was most drawn towards industrial, dark, nostalgic and raw atmospheres. Artists like Dave Clarke, Speedy J, T he Black Dog, and Boards of Canada were a great inspiration to him and still are.He graduated at the Academy for Popculture where he had focussed on experimenting with soundscapes and experimental electronic music. The glitchy strangeness and deep atmospheres he found in these genres opened up a new world for him. Dave now has implemented the inspiration, gained by experimenting with different sounds, into his techno productions and DJ style.
