For the next EP on Deeperfect we welcome back the Colombian duo Jose M & TacoMan. Since their 2016 Equinoxe EP the boys have been non stop touring and releasing some heavy hitters on the likes of Stereo Productions, Elrow and Kinetika Records. Jose M & TacoMan are known for serious dancefloor weapons, and that is exactly what they have delivered here!
The opening track Scottish Girl is a collaboration which sees the boys team up with vocalist Cool Jei for a bumping tech house jam. Things get rolling with a solid and bouncing beat with a selection of grooving percussion and deep sub bass. The energy is amped up by a series of vocal cuts synth stabs and an attention grabbing pitch-bent bass hit. As the track progresses Cool Jei’s vocal comes to the forefront to provide a direct injection of good vibes to the record.
Next up is a remix from the London based duo Italoboyz that takes the grooving original into a more atmospheric and mainroom direction. Italoboyz are veterans of the tech house genre and have been releasing together since 2002 on labels like Viva Music, Moon Harbour and their own imprint, Superfictions Recordings. Drawing on their wealth of experience the duo whip Scottian Girl into a frenzious beast of peak time tech house that is sure to find a home in the sets of the top tier DJ’s!
Rounding out proceedings is a second original from Jose M & TacoMan called Alderaan. Here we are blessed with a funky percussive groover. Using a classic break beat as a back bone to the drums allows the pair to weave in intricate percussion flutters and analog hats to create an energetic and electrifying beat. The hook is based around a series of vocal chops which opens to reveal a funky vocal sample which adds spice and character to the record. A sure fire ass shaker which is bound to bring some fun and energy to any dancefloor.
