Brooklyn resident, Rao, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ. Formerly the guitarist and bassist of several rock bands, Rao has been merging his past experiences with his current influences to weave together a unique sound. He's also apart of NY event series and DJ collective, Dévotion NY. Having produced and played various events throughout NY, Rao has learned to work a variety of crowds over the years. From playing the main stage at Brooklyn Mirage to Elements & PEX festivals.
Rao's most recent release is on Denis Horvat's imprint, Vokabularium. His track ‘Fade’ features an energetic build up to reveal a groovy bass guitar line. With the breakdown providing a moment of pause, the drop delivers a powerful synth lead. The various artist compilation includes Horvat himself, Colyn and Echonomist.
In late 2019, Rao released his debut EP on Marco Resmann's label, Upon You Records based in Berlin, wIth a 3 song EP with support from Ame, Maceo Plex and Aera just to name a few. He followed up with his track, 'Sirens' for an Upon You compilation alongside Innellea, Ruede Hagelstein, Echonomist and Marco himself.
