Turkish music goliath, Sezer Uysal, first appeared with his track, "Section 5" as part of the immensely popular Proton "VS" series in the Summer of 2012. Now the deep house, groove-laden gem follows in the successful steps of other "VS" releases with remixes from a pair of modern high-profile production outfits and stars of the series in their own rights.

The Hungarian trio of Lank, Forteba and DJ Stone have ridden the crest of a wave with their Colourblock production creation throughout 2012. The "Sky and Fiction" album on Proton Music was a revelation in the June of that year, lighting up the progressive house scene with a collection of tracks full of rhythm, groove and shimmering melody. Followed up with the equally popular "Sky and Fiction (The Remix Album)", the trio has proved, from their very inception, the qualities needed to standout in a crowded field. 2013 has proved a relatively quiet year for Colourblock thus far, but their superb remix of Blusoul's "Voyager" for Erik Pettersson's Lowbit has paved the way for another star turn on Proton with their remix of Sezer Uysal.

Matching Ben Mautner's sepia-toned industrial artwork, the Colourblock remix of "Section 5" is fortified by a strong backbone beat and mechanical rhythm. As the track proceeds, a twisted vocal cut provides subtle texture while a bouncing bass line and rhythmic stabs enhance the subtle understated nature of the work. The final presence of a panned arpeggio and echoes of Sezer Uysal's original track complete a sublime picture.

Joining forces on the track, "I Remember", alongside Biologik on the November 2011 "VS" release, Sonic Union and Pete McCarthey enhanced already illustrious careers as producers and DJs. Erik Pettersson under his Sonic Union alias needs no introduction to those cognisant of modern EDM. Head of the hugely respected Lowbit Records and a prolific producer in his own right, Sonic Union has been responsible for a huge collection of successful releases on the likes of DAR, Replug and Whartone. An upcoming remix on Tim Penner's Konstrukt imprint and recent DJ appearances at Bedrock Ministry of Sound Club nights have kept Sonic Union in high demand. Similarly, Greek producer and DJ, Pete McCarthey's flow of releases after winning the Guy Gerber remix competition for the track "Timing", have been of consistently high quality as to be recognised by such industry leading imprints as Vapour, Stripped and Baroque. A growing portfolio of releases throughout 2013 has already seen him feature on Dopamine and Baires and a forthcoming EP on Proton Music is set to follow later in the year.

Combining their considerable talents remixing "Section 5", Sonic Union and Peter McCarthey's "Late Night" mix is aptly named. The original vocal sample is included here in all its loquacious French glory, adding a silky smooth finish to a track that is full of the house sensibilities that marked Sezer Uysal's original production, combined with wonderfully smooth melodic elements, inextricably linked to a lively rhythm section that is a joy to behold.

Two new remixes from a quintet of producers in the shape of Colourblock, Sonic Union and Pete McCarthey have illustrated the assembled strength behind Sezer Usal's "Section 5".
