  • Description Open Records is proud to present our final EP for 2012, with German duo Switchbox's amazing new single When It's Hot. Saving our very best for last, this special Christmas Eve treat will have your stockings full with three of the best tunes on Open this year, with the stunning original complimented by remixes by Australian legend Jamie Stevens and masterful French duo Solead.Punctuated by deep, funky grooves and a catchy tuned-down vocal hook, When It's Hot is a bass-heavy tech groover packed with about as much sub as your soundsystem can handle. Even the title is fitting, with their recent standout set in the scorching heat at Eclipse 2012 Festival in Open Records hometown of Cairns, Australia! After giving us our first ever Beatport chart success in 2010 with his remix of GMJ's First There Was Sound, Open Records is extremely proud to welcome back Jamie Stevens on remix duties. Whether its part of dual ARIA Award-winning live outfit Infusion, or his own solo endeavours on labels like Bedrock, Sudbeat, Parquet Recordings, microCastle or Chameleon, there is no doubt that Jamie is one of Australia's most celebrated names in electronic music and we are again honoured to feature his music on Open. Were sure youll agree his hypnotic deep techno interpretation is nothing short of a standout. But it doesnt end there! Closing out the EP in classy Parisian style, Solead's remix comes out of left field by turning down the BPM and injecting a classy vocal and some seductive nu-disco house vibes. Slick, sexy and sophisticated, Solead couldn't be happier with their remix and agree with Open its one of their best in a long time - a fitting end to another successful year from Australia's favourite independent electronic music imprint. See you next year!
