It was just last year that Touchtalk released Wet Pants - the successful collaboration track with BOHO - on Jannowitz Records. And now they're already back. Which makes sense of course - we love the Brazilian duo and their melodic techno interpretation. Their newest EP Choice incarnates something that Jannowitz Records has been representing since its beginning: Driving and rough techno with overwhelming melodies. This is why their second track Melody was such a match Choice EP. Both originals live off a catchy melody, Choice being the track that follows the motto less is more and Melody being the track that upfront goes for the main stages. Since we loved each track a lot we decided to do something that doesn't happen often: We invited three remixers to work on the tracks. And to make it even more interesting: For the intercultural mix we asked three Eastern Europeans to remix the Brazilians!Bulgarian label owner Christian Craken appeared in Jannowitz Records for the first time in 2018. Hie is super successful with his own PHOBIA imprint and preforms across the world, well beyond the borders of Bulgaria. As expected, he delivers what is probably the most progressive remix for this EP - just like he did last year remixing no one other than Gayle San herself. As for the other remixes: Two new faces are being added to the JAW catalogue: DJ Lion is making his debut remixing Melody. Also from Bulgaria originally, he is now living in Berlin where he studied as the first English speaking student at the famous SAE Berlin. He is known for his powerful sound, shaped by his time in Germany. And this is exactly what he delivers in his remix. He left the melody of Melody almost as it was and played with a heavier kick drum and background elements. It makes total sense to not have touched the theme: Why change something that works perfectly? Different remixer, same thought: Mycell. He is no stranger to Jannowitz Records as he released a remix last year with his project Hory_Doly. But now he is all by himself - already approved by our dear friend Maksim Dark who had him text his sound on his Dense Audio. The Czech rounds off the Eastern European remixers by adding a similarly heavy techno banger that doesn't lack little bits and pieces, elements that make his remix interesting and catchy for the listener. Take in this melodic EP that you'll be enjoying in your favourite club around the globe.
