João Victor, who goes by his artist name Duarte, is a 21-year-old sensation and is regarded as one of the most promising names
of the new generation of Brazilian Tech House that has been conquering the dance scene on a global level. The project has
already caught the attention of some of the most prolific artists in the electronic space, receiving constant support from artists
such as Amine Edge and Dance, Cloonee, wAFF, Shiba San, Chicks Luv Us, Pete Tong, Solardo, Victor Lou, Illusionize.
Duarte has releases on labels such as CUFF, Hellbent, Bunny Tiger, Sola, and DoggHauz, which was founded by Brazilian artist
Mochakk. Through DoggHauz, he illustrated his unique Brazilian flare on his debut EP entitled “Ritmo”. This specific project
reached the ears of the renowned Pete Tong and was broadcasted on his popular BBC Radio 1 show.
Duarte is the representation of a ''Carioca da Gema''. His essence carries elements that characterize Brazilian culture such as its
beautiful beaches. These elements build his sound and it can be seen through his percussions and the melodies he uses. He has
also been immersed in the urban culture of Rio, as it is easy to notice influences of hip-hop culture in his productions and visual
characteristics as well.
