Murphy’s Law - “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong” Murphy’s Law is a DJ & production duo consisting of brothers, Sonny & Finn Murphy. From the ages of 11 and 13, this pair have been in and out of recording studios making everything from Grime to Dubstep and anything in between. The shift in sound came about when the two were old enough to pass with other people’s IDs, getting into raves. Since then, they have been swallowed up by the dark and dirty depths (and debts) of the underground music world. In the short time that this pair have had their forces aligned, they have already put pen-to-paper with a number of highly respected labels including; Under No Illusion, Low:Res, NoExcuse Limited, Distance Music & Under Pressure, along with lots more music being released very shortly. These two’s persistence in the studio has led to lots of early support from some of the biggest artists in the game including Solardo, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Paco Osuna, George Smeddles, Archie Hamilton, Max Chapman and more. The boys have also recently had a collaboration of theirs (with GuyMac) selected as the soundtrack to Pioneer DJ’s latest advert.
Outside of the studio, Murphy’s Law have been working hard to put a unique twist on their DJ sets. By adding live elements, and lots of extra percussive layers, this pair cleverly build on their already groove-fuelled track selections. This infectious sound has already led to Murphy’s Law playing at the BPM festival in Portugal, as well as holding down a residency for the Leicester-based House and Techno brand ‘Full House’, playing alongside artists such as Archie Hamilton, Mason Collective, Rossko, Jaden Thompson, George Smeddles and more. If the back-end of 2019 is anything to go by, then 2020 should be an exciting year for this hungry duo.
