The title cut, "Octagon," quickly reestablishes various Sudhaus signatures: cavernous bassline notes, evocative atmospheric effects, and subtle (yet sublime) melodic plucks. Following a techno-influenced build, we are met with a progressive and trance-tinged breakdown, which features a crystalline lead melody. What if stalagmites and stalactites could sing? Sudhaus responds to that query with a genre-bending and exceedingly evocative after-hours anthem.
The soundscape of the subsequent cut, "Dusk," is equally deep, intricate, and cinematic. Gorgeous atmospheric touches soar above another deliciously smooth, rolling groove. The lush, mystical instrumentation eases the listener into a gentle reverie, from which we wish to never awaken.
