The idea behind the title Deep Is the New Sh*t is rooted in the, so to say, more and more popular usage of the word Deep on matters, topics and, in terms of music of course, genres that has nothing to do with it. It's like a wakeup call or even an ironic shakedown by which we're taking our shot to juxtapose the gibberish associated with Deep and the true meaning of the word.
So, the second issue of Kommunity is all about the classic formula of Deep House music -- minor chords, nicely selected slices of jackin' Chicago house vibes and soul-filled vox parts, beautiful melodies, soothing sexy atmosphere combined with delightful sense of incomparable joy evoking nothing less than an irresistible desire to be carried away by the charm of this sound.
Evren Ulusoy, as the mastermind behind this project, gives the stunning initial look of the composition. Beautiful piano and driving Rhode chords, playful snares and skillful use hi-hats and shakers holding the key to the groove of the rhythm section, gentle ambient pads, mysterious and compelling spoken word... Those bad guys will give you the essence of Deep Is The New Sh*t.
Marvin Zeyss is first on the line of artists outlining the refinement of this package. His vision on the main theme is differed by a profound and bouncing subtle baseline, filtering FX giving you the feel of being sucked into an alter dimension. The focus on the piano section is limited to two leading chords defining the dubbier mood of the track. As for Marvin's choice of a slightly lower tempo -- it gives this important pinch of smoothness leaving you totally overwhelmed by his seductive sound.
The exceptionally gifted Deep Spelle grants you once again with access to his almost unreal world. How's That Possible? says a gentle female voice in the track. Well, you just need to free your mind and dive into his spectral combination of edgy rhythm parts, distant echoes and reverbed hi-hats decorated with stereo riding FX delicately invading your soul and leaving you under the impression of being in a cave-gallery listening to the water-drops to fall. Add to that the extra developed piano melody and you will most certainly get down speechless on your knees and experience a never-to-be-forgotten momentary lapse of time.
The culmination of this exceptional release is Fabien Kamb's Old School Remix -- this artist knows without any doubt how to blow your mind to countless pieces. What he offers here is way beyond what most of us can emotionally handle -- An epic floor-smashing work comprised of his distinctive punchy kicks, clappy snares, funky baseline and guitar sections, screaming strings, terrifically layered melodic parts making this tale a rare treasure to find.
Cheers! Kommunity
