Hailing from Nicaragua and currently based in Calgary, Canada, Marco Cardoza has used his position as a staple of the city's nightlife to become a forerunner in its growing techno scene.

His discography has so far covered various points of the spectrum between house and techno, with a focus on atmospheres and reality-altering, dark, deep and layered sounds.

On this release, Cardoza's original mix of Union is a techno track dominated by reverberating bass drums and delayed synth stabs. A commanding vocal sample offers an interrogative tie in to the song's title, giving listeners pause to reflect on its deeper meaning. The track communicates through a style and with an intensity summarizing what Cardoza is currently bringing to dance floors in Calgary through his events, productions, and performances.

In addition to the original, the EP contains four unique remixes by equally active names and figureheads of a new and gathering wave of Canadian techno artists.

Intellekt completely re-envisions the track as an infectious, frenzied and insatiable roller with unrelenting energy, motion, and fervour designed to push mixes and systems to their limits as well as possess and move bodies in climax en masse.

Dirty Diego marks a much anticipated return to the label offering a precise, controlled, effective, and thought provoking industrial remix fuelled and fused by drone, abstract, and ambient sounds and elements with a healthy dose of noise and grit.

Vancouver artist The Goat doubles down on a dancefloor driver where the central element is intricately detailed and clinically executed drum percussion. Additionally, a truly euphoric atmospheric breakdown creates an emotional pivot point in a track that is sure to find a welcome home in the after hours circuit for some time to come.

The alias Avtomat, which debuts with this EP, acknowledges a time when techno artists were largely unknown and the cult of personality rejected. The Avtomat remix tells several stories in multiple layers punctuated by urgent synth stabs, unrelenting kicks and heavy variations on basic percussive elements and patterns. It provides an uplifting finale as shimmering synths wash over the listener, instantly relieving all pressure and tension built up previously throughout the track.

The Union Remixes Release represents the sixth release for TECHNO.BLACK
