As 2014 draws to a close and we look back on what has been a fantastic year for us here at Selador, we'd like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has played their part in such a successful 12 months that went far and beyond what we could ever have hoped to achieve.
To wrap things up we'd like to finish the year on our second Reloads EP, the occasional series where we invite some of our roster of producers to get to grips with a few highlights from our back catalogue and boy did they step up to the plate.
Leading by example is Kucna Muzika with their remix of Piemont's 'So What' which was part of our fifth release way back during the summer of 2013. It's a chunky motha of a mix that has already had plenty of supporters amongst the lucky few to have it upfront. Main room Tech House at it's finest.
Next up is Snilloc with his interpretation of our very first release, Samu.l's classic 'Restless Dreams'. Keeping things deep but embellishing on the originals hypnotic appeal, adding a moody bassline that takes this gem deeper, while dubbed out muted stabs create an atmospheric touch, while subtle melancholic warmth creeps in later.
Time for another visit to the 'Naughty Forest' next as Beaumont Stanford & Matt Davis take on our very own Dave Seaman's collaboration with Mr Funkagenda. This little beauty. If its a driving solid workout you need, you're looking in the right place. Utilising the vocal snippets and melodies from the original superbly, with cool fx and those big synths, this is one to send your dance floor in to a frenzy.
And finally, we've got not one, but two new versions of Dee Montero's 'Fade Into Noir', one of the standout tracks from our first Showcase compilation earlier this year. Dimitri Nakov is the one on remix duty here, and first up is his vocal dub. This teases the vocal and creates an intense yet deep emotional rework, with big nods to the Original, while adding a head nodding vibe full of groove.
While closing the package is Dimitri's Beats & FX Remix, stripping things back, adding some swagger and effortlessly teasing the melodies, vocal and creating an occasional aura of dreamlike tendencies, while we groove throughout.
Until next time then, we'd like to wish your all a very merry Christmas and happy new year. Thank you for your continued support and promise that next year is set to be even bigger and better.
Selador Seasonal Greetings to one and all with bells on.
