The Original Mix gets us moving with its smoothed edges and flowing rhythms. The classic kick and hat styled intro leads us into a beautifully constructed progressive world. Tight beats are joined by a superbly warm bass that hits the spot with its deep lush vibes while a hypnotizing synth riff sits over the top alongside expertly placed FX. The groove intensifies with rich pads swelling up in the background as Eastern flavours begin to make an appearance. The break unleashes the full power of the melodies in the track and culminate with a beautiful string pluck before we get thrust back into the main groove. A real mover here that will grace many floors no doubt.
One of Bonzai's undoubted top artists hits the remix desk for a journey into a pure progressive world. With an ever increasing workload and ongoing multiple projects, Manu Riga delivers his Night At Goa Remix and he is here to show how it's done. In just the last few months he has churned out quality remixes for Samotarev, Chris Harris, Mendexx and JWM as well as his own tracks, including a reworking of his Bonzai debut Tai Chi Girl. His recent collab with Matt Holiday has resulted in an upcoming release this February, a brand new radio show and much more. A huge year for this guy is on the cards, well worth keeping an eye and ear on. On the intro we are met with crispy hats and sharp claps that blend perfectly with the punchy kicks on offer. A deep droning bass creates a dark atmosphere as various synths and other sounds fill the spectrum alongside expertly crafted FX sequences. Manu entrenches his tribalistic style into the sound with some brilliant drum patterns that marry up beautifully with the ever evolving bassline. Goa elements litter the sound with haunting Eastern voices fading in and out of the groove. A proper, driving slice of progressive that will be a welcome addition in any set.
Blufeld is up next with his Past Is Present Remix and he does not disappoint with his energetic offering. David (Blufeld) is somewhat of a Bonzai stalwart having been around the label since 2008, many tracks have been released across various Bonzai labels since then, including multiple albums. His last full release, Threlkeld gained much support as did his remixes for Alex Vidal and Digital Department, he also got featured on the chart topping Bonzai & Friends Underground Progressive Collection, which rose to the number 1 spot at Beatport. Recently he announced a 4th studio album and a slight change in his production style for 2015, watch this space. The remix intros with a cool drum sequence with sweeping FX splattered over the top, this leads to a short breakbeat groove before going full on 4x4 and picking up the pace. Energy levels rise as a strong synth line hits hard alongside a melodic arp and a wall of noise. The break unleashes the full melodic flavour of the track as the hook dishes out its trance-like vibe and then subtly relenting to bring the beats back to the progressive nature of the track. Superb stuff from Blufeld that will appeal to many across the board no doubt.
