Matt Minimals output to date tends to touch on dark beats with crazy atmospherics and it has been picked up by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Dubfire and Monika Kruse before now. He has also DJed all around the world and rarely leaves the studio when at home, so is a very real talent.
The first of the two originals he serves up is Different Groove, a loopy, smooth rolling techno cut with icy hi hats, rattling bursts of percussion and a seriously heads down groove. Its metallic in texture and canters on unstoppably. Remixing this one is foremost Greek techno producer Axel Karakasis, who has released on the likes of Research, 1605 and Respekt Recordings as well as running his own Remain Records label. His stripped back version is a little more paranoid and powered by dark energy. The groove rocks back and forth and a certain tension builds and builds as the thing rolls on.
Then comes The Last One, with siren like sounds cutting through industrial drums, slick kicks rolling beneath splashes of hi hat and dark, warm pads that imbue the whole thing with a subtle sense of dread. Last but not least, Vibration is a little less intense, instead coming over like a funkier techno track that will bring lots of people to the floor with its crushed hits and squelchy lead synth line.
This is another red hot techno package from the ever on point !Organism, then.
