The home of the heavy hitters, Dutty Audio is back with its 24th release, the Criminal Jazz EP from Swiss DJ and producer Dayni. As a DJ, Dayni has over a decade of experience, and he has put all that he has learnt on the circuit into his productions over the last four years. He's put in the time, and the effort, and after releases on Beatlastics and Translation Records, he's recently stepped up to Delta9, Citrus and now Dutty Audio. BTK's imprint has got some major releases ready for 2015, starting with this beauty from Dayni. Find your way to DAUDIO024, the Criminal Jazz EP.

The title track is pure brilliance, with a well-defined beat lifted by some smooth flute and funk samples, coupled with a grooving bassline and off the wall effects. Dayni moves through the moods, displaying his influences but never becoming a slave to them. Fresh, new and downright criminal, this one will get you ready for the rest of the tracks. Pirates ramps things up to the next level, with some old skool-feeling synths kicking things off, before the producer builds up with skittering drums and an eerie background. Dayni is obviously not afraid to do things differently, knowing that he'll get results whatever he tries. Ice cold, deep and deliberate, Pirates is nothing to be laughed at.

Getting The Edge is next, hitting some dirtier, grimier notes, with a punching beat and funky electronics. All of the tracks on the EP fit right in with what Dutty are all about, which is simply high quality music for the underground massive. Getting...swoops and slides into your brain, looping around until it has you under its spell. Serious business.

Things are wrapped up by 6am, which has a major late night/early morning futuristic feel to it. Getting inside what it means to be a producer and a musician, Dayni breaks convention in everything he does, coming up with unique soundscapes and innovative ways of looking at his music. The end result? Pure fire in the dance.

DAUDIO024 is a perfect start to 2015, get it now.
