House music has seen many artists come and go along with the trends that shape and move scene forward, but one has remained a constant presence.Ian Pooley began his career in his late teens, and was releasing seminal records with labels like Force Inc,John Acquaviva's Definitive label and UK's Effective label as early as 1993.A consistent force throughout the 90's,Pooley helped shape the international house sound.Recording singles and albums for Transmat,Strictly Rhythm,Plus 8,V2 Records,NRK ,and polishing his remixing skills on the likes of Daft Punk,Green Velvet,Yellow,DJ Sneak,Inner City and The Beloved, to name only a few.In 2003, Ian set up his own label, Pooled Music, which has since become a vehicle for Ian's own productions and remixes, as well as an outlet for his favoured producers to release some stella deep house music. And with nearly 25 releases under the belt, Pooledmusic presents it's debut label compilation, a introduction to the uninitiated perhaps, or a handy roundup for fans of the label.Pooledmusic's first compilation roundup kicks off with the soulful vocal sounds of Osunlade's remix of Kemetic Just's "Thank You" and swiftly moves into some serious deep house territory, with cuts and remixes from the likes of Zoo Brazil and Timewriter. House music that keeps it classic, with nice thick analogue sounds, crisp drums and deep melodies, the 'Pooled sound' is weaved together through Ian's great productions (including recent 2009 single "The Dark White") and some choice remix names like Chi-town legend, Derrick Carter, Magik Johnson and Vincenzo & Lovebirds. This mix illustrates the many shades of Pooled, with influences obvious in classic Detroit techno and Chicago house, as well as in the current European sounds. Pooled continues to champion underground music into this new decade, with a little bit of label history being laid down on this mix
