With DPE now well underway, and the DJ support and chart success rolling in, it is time for Stefano Noferini to continue his tradition of discovering and supporting up and coming talent. Here we have a new DPE three tracker from Milano native Jaco (IT), a talented young producer who has been climbing the ranks of the city's underground DJ scene and dropping some fire tracks along his journey.
Up first is Borderline, a funky club jam that dances the line between minimal and tech house in an enticing and captivating way. Swirling percussion and analog hats ride a stomping bass drum, back beat and sub groove to create a warm and energetic club burner. A heavily processed vocal builds the anticipation as this minimal monster explodes into space.
Following is a deep, pulsating jam called Life Style. Here Jaco creates a moody deepness that picks you up and sweeps you away to a blissful place, deep in your own mind. A heavy beat and deep bassline are underpinned by organic drums, a twisted vocal and deep atmospheric synth stabs that bring a combination of warmth and intensity to the stand out composition.
Rounding out the EP is the menacingly titled, My Enemy Is Dead. Here we are treated to a slice of proper minimal. The track is packed with energy but still has room to breath and develop with a deep, twisting groove and warm rhythmic synths which pulse throughout. A dark vocal tells a melancholic and spellbinding tale as this undulating, minimal groover weaves a hypnotic web across the dancefloor.
