Based in frenetic New York City, Justin Marchacos is a versatile composer whose roots originate in film. He has written and performed original music for award-winning films featured on the Sundance Channel, as well as screenings in film festivals like the Tribeca International Film Festival and the San Francisco International Film Festival, among many more. Justin counts his musical influences as those who share the commonality of evoking real emotion, and tell a powerful story through the journey of their music. Justin currently holds rank as a core artist with Cityfox, Brian Cidʼs Endangered label, and the ebb + flow family in NYC. Justin made an unforgettable debut solo performance with his live set on New Year's Eve at The Cityfox Experience: Studio AV 2015 in New York City, which catapulted him into the heart of the dance music scene. Since then, he has moved dance floors packed with partygoers all over the world - at ebb + flow, Cityfox, and Blind Colors in New York City, to Dialogue in Los Angeles as well as at the BPM Festival in Mexico, the Envision Festival in Costa Rica, Cityfox in Zurich, the famed Katerblau as well as Sisyphos clubs in Berlin... from Canada all the way to Tokyo, Japan.
Justin exclusively performs live, playing 100% his own productions, which offers a truly unique experience to the listener. His sound can be described as driving, full, cinematic and powerful melodic house and techno... meant for big sound systems... but can be equally appreciated in nearly any setting from daytime open-air boat parties, to deep afterhours environments.
Justin has shared the stage and been billed with industry luminaries such as Adriatique, ANDHIM, ANNA, Àme, Apollonia, Atish, Bedouin, Behrouz, Brian Cid, Cassy, Einmusik, Frankey and Sandrino, Giorgia Angiulli, Guy Gerber, Jay Tripwire, Job Jobse, Lee Burridge, Luca Bachetti, M.A.N.D.Y., Mano Le Tough, Matthew Johnson, Mira, Octave One, Robag Wruhme, Rodriguez Jr., Ruede Hagelstein, Stephan Bodzin, Tale of Us, Tara Brooks, Tim Englehardt, and Tim Green...among countless others. In early 2019 Justin performed a unique, collaborative set at the inaugural “Cityfox LIVE” event, alongside the worldʼs best live performers with his mentor, techno legend Abe Duque. The chemistry between the two has proven to be remarkable and rewarding. After another successful performance together in Montreal, Canada, the duo continues to evolve and shape their collaborative work, looking forward to more performances in the future.
Justinʼs original studio productions seem to have the knack of grabbing the worldʼs attention. Recently signed to Sven Väthʼs colossal Cocoon Recordings, Justinʼs “Holocene EP” with Apir (Tim Green), exploded to #4 on the melodic house and techno charts and has since been supported by countless champions in the world of house in techno, with every expectation of becoming an industry
classic. In the studio, heʼs worked with exciting and innovative artists such as Julia Govor, Jay Tripwire, Tim Green, Stereo.type, and Brian Cid. His “Giants EP” with Second Format, released on the Cityfox label, charted in the Top 10 on Beatport within its first week. Some of Justinʼs remix duties can be found on labels like Tenampa recordings, NoiseFloor Records, KDB, and Centote records. In early 2018 Justin released the crushing “Kingdom” EP on Brian Cidʼs imprint Endangered, which included a stellar collab with Brian himself. The EP rose to the top 20 on Beatportʼs Melodic House and Techno charts quite quickly. The title track, “Kingdom” was named by the Beatport staff as #28 in the top melodic house and techno tracks of 2018. Justin has a number of upcoming tracks and EPʼs in the pipeline, including collaborations with some increasingly interesting and formidable artists, on some of the most well respected labels the world has to offer. Justin is one of the most exciting producer/performers to come out of New York City, and his influence in house and techno has only just begun...
