Our 52nd release is a collaboration from our friends across the border in Vancouver, BC, Canadian DJ, Rennie Foster and live act, Skylab Sounds. Their original version of The Way Out first caught our ear with it's melancholy, but somehow uplifting, club vibe. The Way Out features Rennie's signature production style, but a more traditional, deep house approach. Skyla J provides both rich vocals and skilled flute playing. The two remixes from Justin Harris give the release solid floor appeal and a unique and playful remix from Thomas Sahs, make this release exceptionally well rounded. The theme of the song, both lyrically, and musically, is a tense balance of light and dark elements, with a nod to the traditions and lineage of thoughtful, soulful, dance music.
