Whilst being an old stager with other projects, his alter ego SIMUN is relatively fresh to the scene. By manifesting his signature sound with releases like this, it's becoming obvious that SIMUN is standing for innovative funky house, ready to set dance floors on fire.
The EP begins with the title track "When It Drops", a tune with extraordinary effective groove and an ear catching hook line. The complex arrangement of bass, synth and guitar sounds create a pure fun experience for the listener. "Bring The Funk" is tougher in comparison, an euphoric house piece with melodic chords and charming, stripped down female vocals - just perfect for the summer. Then SIMUN closes the EP with "President", an energetic house track that's accompanied by a male vocalist speaking about former US President Abraham Lincoln. Infectious, funky and dynamic.
All together "When It Drops EP" is a unique piece of contemporary house music standing out through its experimental combination of funk elements, analogue instruments, authentic vocals and clubby rhythms. When they drop, you can't stop.
