Chilean Ibiza-based producer and DJ Francisco Allendes has been steadily carving out a name for himself over the past decade via releases on Loco Dices Desolat, Lucianos Cadenza, Steve Lawlers ViVa MUSiC and Kaluki Musik where he makes a welcome return to here following his House Train record which featured on the labels Smoke Signals Vol.1 alongside Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed and label-heads Pirate Copy. Taking the lead on the package is Tirana with its crunchy distorted rhythms, tumbling snare rolls sweeping vocal murmurs and head resonant synth swells. Matt Tolfrey steps up to rework Tirana next, delivering a more reduced interpretation focused on low-slung, intricately programmed percussion, a snaking sub-led bass line and swirling cuts of the originals vocal shots. Klasmata follows and tips the focus back over to a raw rhythmic drive with weighty, shuffled and evolving drums running alongside an amalgamation of chanting vocals before Lo-Fi Junky closes the package with chugging low-end tones, soaring diva vocals and gritty dub stabs layered over Allendes signature drum swing.
