Back in late 2014, Derek Howell continued to showcase his inimitable talents with the "One Way" EP on Proton Music. With both constituent tracks finding themselves remixed by a host of artists across a variety of labels, it is no surprise that "Interstellar Homecoming" now finds its way to Yin : Yang with two new interpretations.

Hailing from the Peruvian capital city of Lima, Izakaya Deployment is a 2016 new name to the techno and tech house scene. Building both his portfolio of skills and reputation in equal measures, Mario's passion and craft had already resulted in the formation of his carefully curated No Signal imprint in 2011, part of the Proton label roster and supported by such heavyweights as Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola and Hernan Cattaneo. A production career that achieved lift-off in 2016 with music signed to Bass Works, CrackHouse and his own No Signal, has risen further still in prominence with a remix of Hubert Gomez for Cattaneo's Sudbeat imprint alongside legendary Croatian producer Petar Dundov.

Making his debut for Yin, an evolving rhythmic foundation and driving beat provides an apposite accompaniment for Howell's filtered arpeggio to wend its way across the opening movements in parallel to a rich, filtered bass line that reaches its zenith in a growling breakdown. Returning to the delicious dance floor groove in the third movement, Izakaya Deployment's skill is to produce a dark and brooding work that retains the essence of "Interstellar Homecoming" while providing a subtle shift in direction.
