In the vast musical wonderland of Toronto - easily the new North American hotbed for electronic artists - lies an underground venue titled, Footwork, which has generated a bevy of memorable nights for clubgoers throughout the land. This breeding ground for creativity is where the newest Incorrect Music artist spawned his now up-and-coming production career; one that seems to be taking flight in a burgeoning fashion. We first met Johnathan Rosa years ago and established a keen friendship with him at our label nights at Footwork, thus when he came to us with his new tune "One World" we took a listen immediately. Fresh of his success with notable releases on 303 Lovers and Roots + Wings we expected something captivating and Jonathan did not disappoint! "One World" begins life like a tech-house clock, ticking away teasingly before the low slung, pared-back bassline and spooky pad enter the fray. At this point you notice what will undoubtedly becomes the hook of the track; the delicate and spaciously placed hip-hop vocal, patched together carefully with just the right dose of drama leading you effortlessly to the breakdown. There is a real sense of stripped-back ingenuity in this track as Jonathan maintains heady builds dropping back into the murky depths of an infectious groove and main template of the track. With tech-house crossed off the list, we supply two heavyweight remixes in two distinctly different manners, covering the audio addiction for techno and deep house lovers alike. Needing no introduction is the man of the moment, Italy's Hollen. To say this gentleman has been "on fire" is a drastic understatement with a seemingly multitude of top new tracks being released every other week and he brings his relentless production efforts once again to Incorrect as a follow-up to his "Faces" remix released earlier this summer. His rendition gallops along like a rampant horse from the word "go", with a brooding bassline churning beneath a percussive groove that blends the spellbinding qualities of techno with just the right amount of tribal lightness. Label boss, Anthony Attalla takes a more seductive approach with his soulful retake on the original. It's smooth bassline, horn stabs, cymbal rides and warped snippets of FX and riffs fill out the textures, with plenty of subtle little touches keeping the listener attentive until the vocal breakdown. Sliced open in a dreamy fashion, the meat of the track applies an off-kick vocal stab that amalgamates the arrangement with perfect balance; a version for the sexier side of Incorrect. Truly a "complete" package, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
