Niereich makes his MOD debut and brings his mighty synth work to the table in all three tracks of the "Gen" EP. "Gen II" is built around a constantly evolving chord riff, reinforced by a grinding rhythm section and overdriven electronics. "Gen III" picks up from there with arpeggiated, discordant phrases and a bubbling bassline, emanating a looped-out vibe. Closing up with "Gen IV", another ear-worm riff is introduced against a slightly stripped-down, yet highly effective arrangement.
