The 2001 original has been newly re-mastered with new versions from both Daniell and the double team of Nils Penner (Freerange/Suol) & Moodmusic label boss Sasse. * As an added bonus theres a never before released instrumental. Daniell Spencer released his first record on Nepeta Records in 1999, which was already home to the likes of Felix Da Housecat, Harrison Crumb, Boo Williams etc. But it was Deep Freak (in me) on David Duriezs Brique Rouge imprint out of Paris that really got him noticed. The trademark holler of Downtown proclaiming Ive got a freak in me over Daniells throbbing beats, rumbling bass line and inspired organ flourishes had all the makings of a classic Chicago House Track and it was a defining moment for both the producer and the upcoming French label. The Brique Rouge release featured remixes by a highly respected artist by the name of Llorca and a relative newcomer to the scene using the moniker of Aruba (aka Darran Nugent from Galway), who also happened to have just started a label of his own called Elevation in 2001. The Chicago-Galway connection was made. DJ Feedback Soul Clap All over the HERBAL mixes! Very dope to see Daniell Spencers name coming thru the inbox. Big up CHICAGOOOOO!
