Next up on singular Swiss techno label !Organism is Italian M.I.D.I., who serves up two powerful tracks that come complete with a remix by Peja.
Immersed in music ever since the 90s, M.I.D.I. has served up his releases and remixes on labels like Phobiq, Driving Forces and AnalyticTrail and they are always infused with vintage textures, dark moods and electro sonority.
Up first is Rod Tloohno, a loopy and hypnotically repetitive groove with subtle percussive ticks peeling off rolling kick drums. One for the main room in the dead of night, its a slow burning techno track that slowly but surely pulls you in then freaks you out with ever more urgent and industrial synth lines.
Label regular Peja a techno producer constantly on the move - then remixes the track. His version is a fuller, fatter affair with more funk in its bones. Blasts of wonky synth bounce off icy hi hats and his drums are lively, spritely things that keep you on your toes. The second half of the track is riddled with wild melodies that will send dancefloors into a spin for all the right reasons.
Next is the other original from M.I.D.I., Obscure Sandtek. This one is a grinding, teeth clenching and dark and shadowy techno roller with grumbling bass and manic, alien synth lines interweaving with chilly hi hat ringlets.
Its heady, mind altering techno for the dead of night and is another fine EP from the ever reliable !Organism.
