Leeds based artist Matt came into the spotlight after having a successful release on Jamie Jones & Lee Foss's 'Hot Wave's' imprint, remixing Lee Kesall's 'On The Road'. The track went on to be a biggie last summer and kick started a string of release's on labels such as Mexa, Digital Delight, Nurvous & Audiojack's Gruuv records. Naturally this has led to Matt touring the world with recent guest set's in South Africa, Mexico, Brazil and across Europe.
After turning out a killer remix of Real Nice & Cubiq's 'Had Enough' for us back in November it was a matter of time before he presented us with a solo EP, and when this landed on our desk it did not disappoint. A two track EP lead by 'Powerband', a Deep House monster with it's low-slung groove's, one of Matt's trademark abstract bass-line's and an infectious Sax hook that's got potential to be one the summer's most memorable riff's. It's already been causing a bit of a stir at some of our recent parties and with various other labels quick to show this track attention we're pleased it's found a home here at LNM.
On the flip-side you have 'One Funk', here Matt effortlessly blends the line between style's contrasting the late-night sleazy sound he's becoming known for with a cheeky piano lick and hard hitting percussion elements that come together to create the perfect accompaniment and round off the EP nicely.
