Alessio Mereu has released a streak of quality house music since the launch of his label Amam at the beginning of 2010, always directly involved with the music's production, whether solo or in collaboration. This time, he's teamed up with fellow Italian producer Andrea Ferlin (Freak n' Chic) as DUM, and after their first EP (DUM part 1 /AMAM-005), the boys are back for a second serving of ultramodern house, sophisticated yet functional, providing another preview of what to expect with their upcoming LP this fall.

"All Over Your Face" is destined to loosen joints on dancefloors everywhere, with layers of syncopated rhythms, resembling a cacophony of rattling bones and skulls as they reverberate in an underwater cave. Soon the abstract, hypnotic vocal loops usher in the twin trumpeters who provide some welcome melodic interplay. "Mayor's Wife" is taken from the forthcoming DUM full-length record but appears here in remixed form, courtesy of Acumen (Time Has Changed). This one is a bit more streamlined, driving forward with a sleek groove, but always with a sense of suspense, like a cliffhanger that will leave the dancefloor wanting more. And luckily, with DUM's album on the way, there is more to come from these fine fellows! Stay tuned...
