Blade and Beard's Futurist imprint goes for round three with a release by Tehran-based artist DSM. Our two label heads are familiar with life as a Dj and producer in a country with constraints. Even though limitations in Iran have been reduced, there are still many blocks in the way of Iranian music producers, however these limits are the reason the country's underground music productions are so special and could be the hint why experimental electronic music is so popular. Working in this genre a lot, DSM thinks almost all the music that he has produced is experimental since they don't follow any rule or routine, they just follow his feelings. He is trying to leave a dark, blank spot in his music that gives listeners the time to hesitate and think about the track and even sometimes zone them out.
His EP "Abstracted" is not easy to be defined in words. The tracks are unique, arty and will polarize. The arrangements and build-ups don't follow standard procedures, but they will capture the listeners or dancers imagination. Yes, this is for sure our most special release on Futurist so far, but we think it will hit a spot. One track even got picked for an on-board playlist of Air France.
