Jesse Perez not only published already on labels such as I‘m A House Gangster and Hot Creations, on his own imprint Mr. Nice Guy Records the man from Miami released stuff with titles like „This Hoe Gonna Get Some Dick“ or „Slangin‘ That D“. Damn right, the American producer and DJ call a spade a spade and is following his own style since several years now. After he returned Ellen Aliens „The Kiss“ (BPC265) with a Caribbean-tinged remix last year, Perez will debut with his first „THOT EP“ on BPitch Control.
Perez himself calls his style Bump-N-Grind. And the title track shows already why: „THOT“ is one of those perfect Miami tracks with a wicked bass line and lots of old school driven hip-hop attitude, to which you can actually dance pretty contagious. Just as „Divine Intoxication“. Here a circular bass line moves around with a lascivious verve while Perez demonstrates his passion for direct percussion and nasty rhythms. The melodic addition isn’t new to his game, but a hallmark of his productions. The last track „Bukkake Challenge“ closes the EP not only with some animal madness – in the true sense of the word – but reinforces once again why Perez’ productions are the perfect choice for
people who listen to hip-hop and also enjoying House Music. Shake It Don’t Break It!
