Nordic Trax presents 'See The Way', a delicious four-track deep house EP from self-described 'Mancunian house fanatic' Lee Daley. Lee's roots run deep in the storied Manchester music scene: from his early days playing local bars, clubs, the infamous 'Afterhours' party and even a residency at a roller-skating rink, to his recent role as co-founder and resident at the internationally-renowned Content Manchester, Lee has hosted the likes of Derrick Carter, Move D and Prosumer to name a few. Outside of the deejay booth, Lee's studio career began on his collaboration with Dan McGlynn as 'FraidSo' with releases on Robsoul, Streetlight Recordings and Greenhouse among others. His productions supported by Mark Farina, Phil Weeks & many more, Lee has toured to Dubai, Belgium, Norway, London & Amsterdam in support. More recently his solo productions under his own name have appeared on Bulletdodge, Beef Recordings & Sounds Recordings. The EP opens with 'Can't Help It', a slow builder reminiscent of the finest '90s deep house. Descending into a magical breakdown, the song swells back into life with a catchy vibraphone hook as Lee delivers an uplifting and irresistible opening track. Next up, the title track 'See The Way' is a near ten minute meditation on the groove. Built around old-school key stabs and jackin beats, tension mounts over the first third of the track before a soft release into a moody breakdown. Key stabs and a string rise build the track back up to its euphoric peak before a long mix-out. 'JJ's 2nd' bumps along with vocal chops and a swirling hook that leaves you wanting more. Finally 'Afterhours' -- a nod to the influential Manchester party -- has the vibe of a perfect end-of-night track. Nostalgic and beautiful, the infectious groove is built around shuffle clap patterns leading the driving percussion. One for the heads and dancers alike, 'Afterhours' closes the EP out in style.
