For our seventh release we have our ReSolute label head honcho Elon. Elons timeless musical style glides between house and techno, from dark and emotive to the more rhythmic and uplifting character of electronic music. Elon focuses on deep-melodic techno on this EP with 4 tracks collected from different periods of his production career.
The release opens with title track "Mooncaper". The track starts with an unusual punchy kick drum pattern that smoothly switches to a four-to-the-floor affair, a rising sci fi-esque, yet dreamy synth floats through the whole track effortlessly. Elon programs a funky and infectious sub-bass groove that rolls through the track in unison. Reversed claps roll alongside squelched lazer stabs that flicker nicely in the mix, marrying the elements to an arpeggiated crescendo in the break down, which blissfully drops back in to the main groove.
On remix duties Elon bestowed the honour to two of his friends & the scenes most recent rising stars, Clockwork & Avatism. The boys deliver us a serious piece of originality with their stripped down remix, they used the remix to open their live set to over 20,000 people on the main stage of Sonar which sent the crowd into a frenzy. They use the kick pattern that starts the original and they roll it out throughout the whole track with groovy shuffling shakers and intermittent 808 snares that punch through. This is truly a unique & mesmerising alternative to the original.
The third track on the EP entitled Golden Daylight kicks off with another trade mark funk fuelled sub bass line, accompanied with an expansive pad that washes over this bouncy number taking things deep and uplifting at the same time.
The final track & Vinyl exclusive release entitled Nightsoul is a melodic deep techno gem. It gets straight to business with simple effective drum programming and reverberated snares, warm Juno pads and a wonderful carefully placed melodic elements, skipping drums also adds a swing that compliment the affair.
On the digital exclusive Elon gives us a timeless piece of music in the form of From Brooklyn With Solace. The track kicks off with an infectious driving bass with subtle variations to the groove and intermittent automation touches to create a epic journey. All this is accompanied with deep emotional pads and arps that wash over the soundscape.
This is another fine EP, we hope you love it like we do
