Canadian born, Berlin based Colin de la Plante aka The Mole remains low-key but loved by many. He thrives off long, late DJ sets and does his best to keep record stores in business with what he earns. Resident Advisor attempted to pin him down as being of "deep disco delights, soulful house music and the voice from planet love". We think that works. That said, The Mole's passion for music speaks through his own -a smoke hazed world without constraint or care for genre but cemented in a foundation built in house music. You can hear him thanks to recent releases for Ostgut, Slices Of Life, Haunt, New Kanada, Internasjonal and his long time home, Wagon Repair who released his track that still plays on, "Baby, Your The One". He's remixed many of the finest including Michael Mayer, Imugem Orihasam, Pole and Gui Boratto to name a few.So late last year, over beer together with Kompakt's Jon Berry, they came up with Maybe Tomorrow over a conversation about their favourite childhood (Canadian) hero "The Littlest Hobo" - a TV show about a German Shepard that had no home and roamed around Canada helping people out. The inaugural EP "If I Had A Nickel" (MT001) set sail in September 2012 - support was overwhelming and loving thanks to the likes of Prins Thomas, Mike Shannon, Ernesto Ferreyra, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Axel Bowman, Gerd Janson, Craig Richards, Tim Sweeney...Let's hope the momentum continues with this second release! As Colin says "seeing as the music will do a better job of explaining itself than I do, we'll let it do the talking"
