AMA010 sees itself graced by the likes of Nottingham (UK) residents Joe Breslin and Sizlak, birthed Simon Radford. The two combine homegrown influences with forward thinking mentalities to make this EP one of our favorites from the catalog to date. Don't call it just House music, because it's not. The split, instead, is an ode to spacious grooves, peaked for any midnight marauder. Sizlak's Aside contribution, "Lost Control," does just this. A four to the floor tune fitted with shifty percussion and a bubbling synth line. What melodic tendencies the Aside leaves out, can be found in backing "Metro," the joint efforts of the two. The track, structured with arpeggiating stabs and a bouncing bassline, is built around an atmosphere dripped in 4/4 fullness. Breslin's single, "Planet X," might be the closest thing to techno we've released. The tune, so properly fitted with an equally terrifying name, is built around a single groove and drenched in sub bass. This one is hauntingly familiar, yet so alien in nature. To close the EP we brought in Nottingham's Animist to remix Sizlak's Aside, giving it a proper, peak-time facelift.
