With the pending Tim Burton-helmed re-release soon to hit theaters across the globe, it seems to be a fitting time for Shingo Nakamura's brilliant single "Alice in Wonderland." The Japanese producer has carved out a formidable reputation this past year for infectious melodies, centering on his classical training in piano. A buzzy, electro-tinged bassline and Mango-inspired lead melody propel the track to the massive break, where a delicate, yet emotionally resonant main theme awaits. Luiz B., the gifted Brazilian talent who has appeared on many of Silk's recent releases, returns with an equally energetic rendering, albeit with a completely re-imagined, "shuffly" rhythm. Finally, Kobana and Mario Hatchet, fresh off of the lush "Play" release, offer a much more stripped-down and moody interpretation. Echoes of the original mix can be heard in the breakdown, while an incisive new lead triumphantly cuts through the mix.
