DYR (aka Colleen Burns) is a Seattle-based electronic artist, producer, and DJ. DYR's passion for music began while tuning in to the wonders of late-night 90s electronica radio programs. After finding her DJ persona at Bennington College (‘12), she relocated to her new home in Seattle where she has been DJing ever since. In 2017, DYR self-released her first single “All The Time”. Electronic North, the blog of UK electronic music label AnalogueTrash says, “”All The Time” by DYR is like a trip through the ages of dance music. Whilst not in any sense a retro track, it takes elements of early house music, electro, techno and Chic era disco, and blends in subtle but driving percussion to deliver a track that makes your feet want to move and your hips want to sway in time to the most infectious bass line you’ll hear this year.” Inspired by similar artists such as The Emperor Machine, In Flagranti and !!!, "All The Time" “will be sure to get you up and grooving (Stereo Fox).” The release party at The Moon @ BIG BLDG featured DJ performances from DYR and fellow Seattleites Nick Charles, disco enthusiast Parker Mills, and DJ-Producer Meltonwax. “All The Time” was featured during a live session on Seattle pirate radio station, Orphan Radio, as well as numerous electronic music outlets such as House Music With Love, We Chill You, and Do The Dance. DYR expertly navigates across genres; exploring eccentric selections of disco and house, and mixing electrifying rhythms and patterns that transport and elevate the dancefloor.
