Before internet and electricity. Before steam power and the invention of the wheel. Before humans and multicellular life. Back then, the world was one singular supercontinent called „Rodinia". Living in the 21st century makes it easy to forget that everything we represent and experience came from one single point of origin. This also applies to music, one of the oldest methods of communication for the human species. Let's reverse this process and start 2017 by looking at the things that we have in common, instead of what differentiates us, For the „Rodinia" EP, Kabuki assembled an all-star team of forward thinking producers and vocalists from such diverse geographical locations as Calgary, Baltimore, Berlin and Manchester. Each collaboration is running at a different tempo with a distinctly different momentum. But there's a clear connection between the four cuts, which is the basic denominator of all music: the vibe. The artwork for the EP was created by the renowned Japanese artist Usugrow, who also worked for clients such as Vans, The Hundreds and Metallica in the past. Through previous collaborations, Usugrow and Kabuki forged a friendship and are always working on on new concepts and ideas. In collaboration with TT the Artist (who is not only a gifted vocalist, but also studied filmmaking at Maryland Institute College of Art) a moody black-and-white video for „Mad" was shot on location in Baltimore. Instead of rehashing the same old imagery of making ends meet by illegal means, the narrative of the video is „art as a hustle". ---------------------------------- ABOUT KABUKI Bass music ambassador and vintage gear aficionado Kabuki began his musical
travels during the nineties. Equally at home producing Hip Hop, Juke and Jungle, he is always in pursuit of new beat experiments. In addition to writing music, Kabuki has worked with a number of music tech companies in developing new products, sample packs
or preset patches. ---------------------------------- ABOUT THE TEAM MC Fox https://www.facebook.com/MCFoxMCR TT the Artist https://www.facebook.com/Iliketttheartist NGHT DRPS https://www.facebook.com/NGHTDRPS HomeSick https://www.facebook.com/homesiiick Usugrow https://www.facebook.com/Usugrow ---------------------------------- Mastering Enei @ Audiomontage Distributed by Label Engine - www.label-engine.com
