Rebel Sound EP
Demon Dub Records

"Fat! Hot shit" 5/5

"Top Shit!" 5/5

"Sick. Schroff has arrived, mothafuckaz. 5/5

In German Schroff translates to all manner of words: rough, harsh,
abrupt, sharp, curt and gruff to name but a few. Meanwhile in the
tender tongue of dubstep, Schroff simply translates to badman

Theres no better home for this London-based engineer, then, than
the exciting bass-bulging imprint Demon Dub. Now 13 releases
deep, their repertoire is scorched by white hot names of tomorrow
such as Street Creeps, Rakta, 1point5 and Byterate. Adding to the
labels demonic discography, Schroff follows up his recent
chart success on Trap Sessions Volume 1 with this fiery
five piece.

We screech into vision with Smoke Scream. A dramatic opener
waftswith an eerie Halloween stank that builds and builds before
were plunged into a pool of screaming bass terror via a cheeky
banana smoking sample. Expect serious carnage as the screams grizzle
with high end panache.

Then we ignite with Bring The Heat, a swaggering stepper that
launches with a horn-hooting leap and a drop distinctive enough to
warrant a million reloads.

Rebel Sound adds a whole new twist to proceedings thanks to a
resplendent hook that puts the dub back into dubstep and a spitfire
vocal hook from MC Killa Zorro. Head rocking, body shocking vibes
abound as we dive from deep swing to a more sizzling bass
flavour later in the track.

Up next is Bax Beats, a perky, party-minded piece that combines
the dub bass techniques displayed in Rebel Sound and the more
vibrant, sharp-edged sonics showcased on Bring The Heat. A
prime-time skank joint, this cant fail on any bass-minded floor.

The grand finale Make It My Own sees Schroff buddy-up with
previous vocal collaborator Loni Lincoln. Loaded with a tribal beat
pattern and some serious sultry vocal demands, its yet another
game changer from one of dubsteps most exciting new faces.

With DJ support from Rusko, Reid Speed, Pendulum/ Knife Party,
The Prodigy, Bassnectar, Black Sun Empire, Schema, Drumsound,
601, Bare, The Qemists, Calvertron, Document One
