Claire Ripley, the London based producer and head of her new Phobic records imprint sends over some lovely extended and hypnotic vibes with this magnificent four tracker, backed up by a classy remix by Gorge of 8bit and Cecille fame. Just the right medicine as summer draws to a close!

Written and produced by herself, and engineered by Justin Drake, the EP captures all the excitement and promise that a new artist like Claire exudes, plus the added bonus of having one half of Peace Division working the mix. Nice!

Title track 'Labyrinth' introduces us into Claire's world with long, drifting arrangements full of tension and cooly placed melodic sentiments. Deeply tuned, chunky drums work the floor while only a handful of carefully selected elements sing their tune. Flirting between sunrise synth-lines and tingling atmospheric moments its a haunting adventure into modern hypno-house.

Gorge's remix of 'Labyrinth' lifts the energy a notch with his trademark rolling drums and pushing energy from the very start. Using the main hooks with discretion this 8 minute drum workout is a tough, addictive and essential club tool. Check it on the floor!

Carrying on Claire's unique house vision, 'Utopia' takes us further with its equally hypnotic blend of synths and crisp, solid state drum patterns. Saying it all it needs to say while only using a reduced sound palette, its modern take on the work of the founding fathers of the minimal sound.

'Sonar' raises the spirit once again with an urgent, pushing vibe reminiscent of those classic New York house jams. Energetic and focused, and no doubt inspired by the famous open-air sessions of a certain yearly gathering, this is peaking stuff as we edge towards the later hours.

Finally the percussive and sexily stripped 'Kismet' arrives to warm us down and tease out the final dance. Deceptively complex, the long intertwined vocal passages and spaced out drums combine in a deep tripping story thats underpinned by a pitching floorshaker of a basslinef

As as special bonus, the track „Kismet“ is included in this strong package.
