Mild Pitch are honoured to welcome the hidden legend that is Mark Blakkat Bell to the label for their first release recorded outside of Essen!

Exile Blackpooler now based in L.A., Mark Bells career spans over two decades in the recording industry, ranging from bizarre Top of the Pops fame with UK super-group M People to the darkest 24h basement raves of world club culture. Producer, singer, song-writer and instrumentalist for the major label industry in the early 90s, Mark went on to establish the house and techno outlets Shaboom and Blaktrax in 1997.

Presumably under-worked with building an overall catalogue of almost a hundred singles, Eps and albums for his own imprints, Mark recorded an immense number of releases and remixes for world-renowned labels such as Classic, Paper or Ovum, as well as being a key-figure in the west coast house movement with productions for Siesta, Tango or Electrik Soul at the beginning of the millenium. Not enough to mention Mr. Bell has also be in charge writing, producing and performing music for fellow artists like Doc Martin, King Britt, Funk DVoid and DJ Sneak.

2009 saw the voice of Blakkat feature on Manuel Turs debut album 0201 and its second single Golden Complexion, backed up by the remix mastery of Pépé Bradock. Manuel, a long-term fan of Marks work, and the Mild Pitch heads Dplay & Langenberg did not hesitate a second, when Mark offered them the sultry and intense track that is In This World. Its mesmerizing atmosphere, Marks distinctive vocals make this a lately unheard little vocal anthem for the summer.

The original Blakkat Devotional Mix is accompanied by one of Blakkats famous twisted dubs that sucks you deep into the darkness of never-ending drum modulations and reversed vocal echoes until the break releases the euphoric tension of the original song. Rounding off the package, the B-side offers a striking Langenberg remix, that hits you deep in the guts with its heavy and hypnotic bassline and mechanic beats. Anthem alert!
