Nick Stoynoff first presented his "Berlin Dream" EP in January 2012. With support coming from all quarters including Exoplanet, Arthur Deep, and Aeron Aether, the title track now sees a fitting finale to a trio of releases that have already seen remixes from Magitman and Colourblock on "Brandenberg", and Nigel Good and Scotty.A on "Berghain". Accompanied by thematic artwork from the ever innovative, Ben Mautner, "Berlin Dream" now sees a final pair of remix treatments from Israel and Canada's finest.

Fresh from their recent, stellar remix of Juan Deminicis and Pablo Acenso's "Downshifting", Guy Mantzur and Khen return to Proton once more to further critical acclaim. Impressive production entities in their own right, both have been pushing the frontiers of the Israeli dance scene through their innovative production sound. Respect as international DJs has seen both become in-demand producers of the modern digital age and, for Khen, these skills are soon to be translated to a Proton Radio show launching this summer. In combination with Guy Mantzur's "unique hypnotic melodies", the collaborative tour de force has seen the duo feature on a host of impressive labels, from their recent remix of Simon Firth for 99percentrecordings and Marcelo Vasami on Bermudos, to original productions on Mantzur's own Plattenbank imprint.

Taking on "Berlin Dream", the Israeli duo unearth a stunning rhythmic jewel that encompasses all that makes Guy Mantzur and Khen such a formidable pairing. Echoes of Stoynoff's original work are cleverly interwoven against a deep bass line and a collage of percussive elements that scud easily across the track's upper reaches over a landscape rich in melodic detail. This is a track that demands repeated listens to fully appreciate its impressive complexity.

From the Canadian province of Ontario, Tim Penner has unleashed a wave of innovation since the impressive "Halftone/Polychrome" EP for Stripped Recordings at the end of 2011. Priding himself on creativity, Penner's guiding principles of "audio manipulation" through harnessing "layers of frequencies that create the soundtrack to our lives" is based on a fundamental premise to "innovate rather than imitate". No better illustrated than on his work for Replug, Baires and recent remix of Apologist's "Natural Instinct" for Proton Music, Tim Penner is a man on a mission to produce "something new". His label Konstrukt, run with 2012 Proton newcomer and rapidly rising star, DNYO, further evidences this modus operandi and both feature alongside Nick Stoynoff, Sonic Union, David Granha on the imprint's brand new "Get Me High" EP (

Remixing "Berlin Dream", Tim Penner's driving rhythms and hypnotic clave percussion form the basis for a deep and dark interpretation, rich in subtle grooves. Ticking hi-hats gradually force their way to the forefront of rhythmic consciousness as occasional stabs, echoing Stoynoff's original, grow in intensity to find perfect placement amongst the rhythmic melange.

The European music capital is truly at the forefront of listeners minds as Guy Mantzur, Khen and Tim Penner fire the imagination in Nick Stoynoff's "Berlin Dream".
