RICHIE LOOP BIOGRAPHYRichard Webb, better known as Richie Loop, exploded onto the world stage in February 2010 with the release of his smash hit single My Cupp.The song that was released on the Scikron/Big Yard label transformed the behind-the- scenes writer/producer into a household name in the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East.The success of My Cupp would also become the platform for Richie Loop’s career as a singer and producer as he enjoyed immense success with a number of other popular singles including Party Like It’s Your Birthday with international dancehall star Busy Signal and DMajor (2010), Summer Spazz with Christopher Martin (2011), Party Time (2010) and Gyal You Body Clean (2010). He boasts producer credits on all the projects.In late 2012, the talented entertainer/producer moved on from Big Yard and went on a self-imposed hiatus to rediscover and re-evaluate his goals. Re-entering the industry three years later, Richie Loop set about re-establishing himself as the creative genius that was the mastermind behind some of Big Yard’s most successful outputs during that his time at Big Yard.His return to the music scene coincided with the emergence of EDM as a genre that was beginning to find a niche in Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and the world. Always wanting to push the envelope with his creative mind, Richie Loop began experimenting with EDM long before Jamaicans started to embrace the genre.In 2011 he created the Fusion Riddim, an EDM-inspired riddim that featured artistes like Future Fambo, Iceman, Sanjay, Ray-ta, Red Fox and ZJ Liquid. Despite his interest in EDM however, at the time Jamaican disc jockeys were not so receptive.To be Continued....
