In late 2017, Australian producer, Matter, once again demonstrated his considerable production talent with the superlative, "We Are Dust". Now, Proton Music returns to the EP with a pair of remixes from Moldova and Dubai plus a special reinterpretation from the artist himself.

Coming from diverse musical perspectives, Alex and Andrew have triumphed through their Lanvary production outfit. With a distinctive sound cooked up in their "musical kitchen", the duo has become masters at blending sonic ingredients and turning them into fully-fledged Michelin starred creations. Wowing fans and peers alike, their distinctive music has found its way onto such leading imprints as Balkan Connection, Clinique and Superordinate Music, while also contributing to the popular Visceral compilation series. Regulars on Particles, their twin-track, "Venus" EP marked a superb original debut on Proton Music. Following up on a 2017 remix of "Seed", Lanvary return to remix Matter once more with a typically strong version of "Star. Rock.". A huge grooved bassline provides a central theme as a kick with the power of a mule strikes through a melange of pads and melodic motifs that are such a central part of the original. Evolving throughout, a range of additional production material can be heard in percussive foundations and effects-drenched sounds that drift intermittently across the left-right spectrum. The resultant piece is a multi-layered and multifaceted work of imagination and skill.

A jewel in the United Arab Emirates firmament, Subandrio has garnered a 24-carat gold reputation for himself from his Dubai home. Crowned "Middle East DJ of the Year" by Pioneer DJ in 2013, Subandrio continues to impress with his "deep, dark melodic frequency palette". Simultaneously, Subandrio's production career has seen him rise to new heights with his unique production sound. Hitting the heights on a plethora of high-calibre imprints, a four-track EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat, in January 2018's "Fugue State of Mind", saw Subandrio's career hit a new high-point in sparkling fashion. A clutch of remixes and original work for Particles provided rich entertainment while a pair of remixes of Pete K and Tim Penner in 2016 and 2017 marked notable highlights for Proton Music. Now remixing Matter, the Subandrio remix of "We Are Dust" tells a tale of rich aural textures and strong sonic palette. Evolving with consummate ease over its nine-minute journey, there is a strong connection to the themes of the Australian's original as a hypnotic groove builds in character and strength, encapsulated in Subandrio's sculpted and crafted production work. The end product is a sonic masterpiece.

Developed as part of his set of his country's renowned "Rainbow Serpent Festival", Matter and Universal Harmonics' "Dragon Awaken Intro Mix" takes "Star. Rock." on a new journey that scintillates through "indigenous Australian sounds" that include the iconic didgeridoo, layered and woven into the sonic textures of the original. A magical three-minute builds sees the new mix as a perfect DJ set opener.

A trio of new interpretations from Lanvary and Subandrio and Matter himself, demonstrate that "We Are Dust" still has a long life ahead of it.
