Heath Mill Recordings closes out the month of August with a debut from Australian producer GMJ. Formerly known as Gavin Martin, the Melbourne-based artist is a veteran of over twenty years now with releases on labels ranging from Particles to Vapour to Balkan Connection and many more. The GMJ project was birthed in 2007 and has since played a major role in the forward-thinking creativity we see come from Martin today.

'Unseen Worlds', which officially comes out on the Heath Mill imprint on August 28th, kicks off with a very distinct drum rhythm. Comprised of a looped, hollowed out pad, the intro has a subtle touch of tribal notes to it while a subtle, yet effective kick fills in around a series of elongated, wavering synths that continuously rise and fall with the ebbs and flows of the record. GMJ adds an arpeggiod back-melody that prominently accents the off notes of the track. Throughout its duration, Martin displays an excellent command of proper synth structure during a production that tiptoes the lines between deep house and progressive music with ease.
