Hailing from its mothership label Circus Recordings, Yousef resurfaces his supplementary outlet Carioca Records with a much more musical approach. Unlike Circus, Carioca is designed to be less of a reflection of Yousefs DJ sets, but rather opening up a wider musical latitude, offering an opportunity to release more hypnotic house and techno, not always aimed the DJs, but instead the music enthusiast.
IDQ is a sound project from Serbia established few years ago, led by Igor Puljic - Pookie, alongside Alex Milicevic and Dragan Razic. They decided to join their forces of knowledge, talent and experience to form IDQ. In a very short period of time they managed to collaborate on the diff. tracks with many successful artist and labels. (Sandy Rivera, Sam Obernik, The Shapeshifters, Todd Terry, Martijn Ten Velden, David Penn and many more) They recently remixed a house classic by Sandy Rivera - Changes, have a release for Yousefs imprint Carioca and few more collaborations with Roger S, Rene Amesz and a remix for Yotto beside several solo releases for some cool underground labels.
The 'Easy Times EP' for Carioca consists of two tracks. 'Easy Times' is a deep vocal sound we started with an idea to get a proper balance between a classic deep house track and something more eclectic with the original vocals and lyrics. We wrote the lyrics very quickly and came up with something which could not quite fit into any particular genre, but we liked it and what is even more important Yousef also got it from the very first moment we sent the track
'April' is a bit more techy track, which had a full vocal on for a long time, but for some big room party we played, we made a Dub. It worked so well on the dancefloor that we left the vocal out and sent the final mix to Carioca without it.
