This no-nonsense, peak time onslaught is reflected nicely in Shared People and its b-side Jambo Yaaba, which comes from an artist who has already found success with releases for Autist, Hell Yeah and Mantra Vibes.
Shared People, co-produced with Phunx launches with volcanic gusto. A gritty hat loop precedes a beast of a classic house kick while hooky vocal samples (youll recognise them) build to a drop into the sort of bedlam inciting guttural bassline which screams FESTIVAL SEASON! Carnival cowbells, clever edits and further aggressive drops are just the icing on the cake for this slice of main room/stage carnage.
Filtered, chanting vocals introduce B-side track Jambo Yaaba before being joined by a swinging sub bass line and nagging vocal snippets and fluid stabs. Some playful loops and rhythmic switches are thrown into the mix too, and every element is tweaked and stretched into a sun soaked, arms in the air anthem more than capable of giving the a-side a run for its money.
This is uncomplicated, brilliantly executed main room house brimming with character and smiley spirit, and is certain to cause a fair amount of damage this summer.
Shared People by Taster Peter & Phunx is release in August 2010 on Christian Smiths Tronic.
